“Paula has been an extraordinary guide and mentor to both of my daughters over many years. Her support has been transformative by not only in helping them achieve outstanding academic results, but also in giving them the tools, strategies and confidence to overcome personal challenges and realise their full potential. With Paula’s guidance, my elder daughter successfully navigated her GCSEs and A Levels, achieving A* A* A, and went on to study Fine Art and Art History at university, where she has consistently achieved Firsts and high 2:1s in her work and dissertation. Living with OCD, ADHD and at times debilitating anxiety, she often found study overwhelming, but Paula’s calm and insightful approach gave her focus, resilience and independence. Paula’s methods truly unlocked her creativity and academic ability. My younger daughter began working with Paula during her GCSEs, when she needed help with revision planning and organisation. For A Levels, Paula tutored her in History and Psychology, supporting her with structure, planning and exam preparation, and crucially building her confidence. She has just achieved A* A A results that reflect not only her hard work, but Paula’s consistent encouragement and guidance. Without doubt, Paula’s input across academic studies, planning, structure and emotional support has enabled my children to overcome learning differences and thrive. I am deeply grateful for her dedication and expertise, and cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“Paula worked with our daughter towards astonishing GCSE results - all 8/9 or A* /A** . While our daughter is smart, hardworking and organised, she benefitted hugely from Paula’s skilful moral support and confidence building. Paula also have her revision tips, advanced strategies for continuing to love learning and to grow. Paula is now supporting our son who has learning differences and has found studying very very hard. Paula has worked with him and us as parents to make learning important and enjoyable - he’s 100% a changed young man as he now approaches GCSE. Paula had two kids from different ends of the ability range to work with and has done this with such professional skill and panache it has been a lesson in itself. And let’s not forget joy - Paula brings it with her and leaves it behind to keep nourishing our children. The best..”

“Paula has been my daughter’s tutor/coach since February 2024 and has been focused on helping my daughter develop executive function skills in a way that is also integrated into her subject matter coursework. It has been very reassuring to know that Paula is a well trained and experienced specialist with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by neurodiverse pupils. My daughter was low on self-belief and I have seen her confidence in her own abilities grow with Paula’s help. Paula’s relentless positivity is a real asset in encouraging and motivating my daughter. Paula was an invaluable support during the challenging GCSE exam period during which she provided much needed structure and scaffolding. She is a reliable, consistent, and flexible tutor/coach who is always willing and ready to provide feedback and keep the parent in the loop. Paula has gone above and beyond in support of my daughter and in liaising with me; for example, she provided detailed session documentation required by the Local Authority. I would not hesitate to recommend Paula as a dedicated and highly committed educator. We feel so fortunate to have discovered the Code, and so thankful for Paula, who, as the inspired business leader of the Code, is providing vital individually tailored support to neurodiverse children in real need.”

“Paula has been working with my 11 year old daughter since January 2025 and her support has been invaluable in making the transition into secondary school so much smoother. With ADHD, my daughter can find organisation and time management particularly challenging, but Paula has helped her develop essential executive function skills, learning how to approach homework in a structured way, manage her time more effectively, and build strategies that really work for her. Alongside this, Paula has also been tutoring her in maths, science and English. She has a wonderful ability to integrate learning with skills coaching, so my daughter not only understands the material more clearly but also feels equipped to tackle her work independently. What has been most impactful is the growth in my daughter’s confidence. She now approaches tasks with a sense of independence and belief in her own abilities that she simply didn’t have before. Paula’s calm, positive, and encouraging approach has made all the difference.”

“I have a daughter who is now 19 years old and was diagnosed with mild ADHD and dyslexia from the age of 7 years old. Paula Barrett has been my daughter’s learning support coach and tutor since 2016, and supported her before and prepared her for 11+ in which my daughter secured a place in her top choice in London day school.
Paula was able to teach and suggest different ways for my daughter to tackle English in prep-school and senior school, eventually helping support her EPQ project at senior school to which my daughter was awarded an A*. I would like to add that though most schools have SEN support, as my daughter’s school had, they are nowhere near as knowledgeable as Paula Barrett is nor are they able to devote the same amount to time. Now that my daughter is at Edinburgh University, Paula is still supporting my daughter with short weekly ‘check-ins’ to help my daughter to ensure that she is on track. Paula Barrett has such a wealth of knowledge, experience, resources, and training that is hard to find from just any tutor/coach who would have all this. I feel lucky enough to have found her in good time.”
